Feeder Calf Program

As you can tell, at Gall Family Red Angus, we try to sell the highest quality Red Angus genetics to our customers on an annual basis.  This is achieved by the utilization of Embryo Transfer and Artificial Insemination.  Using these tools not only allows us to sell high quality genetics, but it allows our customers to sell calves with more pounds and higher quality carcasses.          In the past four years, GFRA has been in the market to purchase Certified Red Angus feeder calves.  The majority of the calves purchased are from our customers, but now we are expanding our market and are willing to purchase calves out of other breeder's bloodlines.  We have purchased calves on Superior Livestock, at the auction and straight off the farm/ranch yard.      Our preference is to purchase calves off of your yard.  Why? 1) Decrease in disease; 2) Decrease of stress on the calves; 3) The commission and shipping costs goes in your pocket...you saving about $15.00/head in shipping and commissions.      How do your calves qualify for our program? 1) They have to carry the Certified Red Angus eartag and EID (They are available through the RAAA office and it guaranties they are 50% Red Angus.); 2) Up to date vaccination records and health certificate from a veterinarian; 3) Cannot be earred cattle (brahman influenced); 4) preferably they come from our bulls.      If you are interested in selling your calves to us or gaining a potential bidder/buyer on your calves, please feel free to contact Corey at (605) 935-7052. *****THE RESULTS ARE IN...ON 210 HEAD OF RED ANGUS AND RED ANGUS X HEIFERS AND STEERS OUT OF GFRA BULLS:  86% CHOICE WITH THE CATTLE FINISHING @ 1240 LBS SHRUNK WEIGHT AND ACTUAL CARCASS YIELD OF 64.34%....ACCORDING TO THE BUYERS OF OUR CATTLE, THEY WANT MORE!!!
